The mission of the Selma Recreation Department is to provide facilities and a comprehensive recreation program designed to help meet the leisure needs, interests, and desires of everyone in the community – both genders, young and old alike, and people from every economic group and social strata throughout the year.
Playgrounds: June – July, Monday – Friday, 8 am – 12 noon

Dinkins Pool: Open June – July, Monday – Friday, 9 am – 6 pm
Swimming lessons are taught by certified American Red Cross water safety instructors on Tuesday and Thursday.
Basketball: June – July
CAP League: June – July Games are played at Softball Complex
The Gazebo, located in Valley Creek Park, 108 West Dallas Avenue, is available during daylight hours only (no electricity) for gatherings such as children’s birthday parties, small family reunions, etc. It will comfortably accommodate around 50 guests. This open-air building with handicap access includes a grill for cooking, playground equipment, and restroom facilities.
To reserve the Gazebo, call (334) 874-2140 or (334) 874-2141 and a member of the Recreation Department staff will be glad to assist you. There is a $5.00 deposit on the gate key refundable when the key is returned. Alcoholic beverages, loud music, open bonfires and discharging of firearms is prohibited and strictly enforced.
