A long time resident of Selma, Council member Bowline has been co – owner and principal of Madden & Associates, a local marketing firm since starting it in 2000. Since opening Bowline has had the opportunity to work with politicians, hospitals, municipalities, financial institutions, community and economic developers, artists, non-profits, Industry and retail businesses. In addition he is a co-owner in a new printing company, Blackbelt Paper & Ink. He also served on the board of directors for Old Depot Museum, Main Street Selma, Blackbelt Benefit Group, Sabra Sanctuary, Grow Selma, Chamber of Commerce, Central Alabama Animal Shelter, The Journey School and St. Paul’s Little Friends School. Carl has lived in California, his native Texas, Connecticut and Georgia before settling in his father’s hometown of Selma a little over 27 years ago. Carl his wife, Julie and their two children love Selma and beat the heat in a local treasure, an artesian well water fed 225,000 gallon Olympic size pool originally dug in 1934 by his grandfather and great grandfather.
